There is money in dance!

I’ve always known that dance is what I want to do, which is probably why my family never really understood me and tried to push a narrative that there is no money in dance. I’ve known I wanted to be a professional dancer since 12. That’s a young age to have your future somewhat planned out. But it’s my passion, and I will make it happen no matter what people say. Pursuing dance in college taught me that there is money to be made. But I didn’t learn it specifically from my university. MFA students who have already been in the dance community for decades taught me more than the professors did, which inspired me to learn more about my community and how to cultivate a space for myself in it.
